Statement of Athletic Philosophy
Rooted in the truth of Ecclesiastes 4:9–12, the athletic community at Rochester Christian University embraces the theme “Better Together.” Scripture reminds us that “two are better than one” because partnership brings strength, encouragement, accountability, and support through every challenge and victory. As administrators, faculty, and coaches, we are committed to helping each student-athlete reach their God-given potential academically, athletically, spiritually, and personally. Through practice, competition, mentorship, and meaningful relationships, we seek to cultivate responsibility, character, perseverance, humility in victory, and graciousness in defeat. Together, we strive to build a culture where no one walks alone and where every athlete is encouraged to grow as both a competitor and a follower of Christ. Members of the athletic program are called to represent the university with integrity and to uphold the Christian mission upon which RCU was founded. Athletics provides a powerful opportunity to connect people to our community, and we are committed to stewarding that opportunity faithfully—because we truly are Better Together.
