WARRIOR STUDENT INTERNSHIP LISTINGS

Warrior Athletics is proud to have several opportunities for students to gain real-world experience inside the athletics department. Below are a few of the many possible roles a student can have within the department. These positions can apply toward internship hours for major requirements at Rochester Christian University.

Sports Information Intern

 

Sports Information Interns will be responsible for helping enhance the RCU Athletics experience online, keeping fans up to date and informed with stat keeping at contests, writing news pieces for Warrior Athletics, helping manage rochesteruwarriors.com, and providing important gameday information for opposing teams and traveling fans. 

 

  • Statkeep home RCU athletics contests and run live stats for multiple RCU sports

  • Write news content for RCU athletics website, including previews, recaps, feature pieces

  • Maintain website organization and create schedule/roster pages for RCU teams

  • Assist broadcast interns in running broadcasting, including providing game notes 

  • Send and receive important gameday information from opposing teams weekly

 

Broadcasting Intern

 

Broadcasting interns will receive experience live-streaming, commentating, and creating sports graphics for home RCU contests. Broadcasters will be responsible for helping run Rochester Sports Network and will be responsible for capturing game film for opposing teams as well. 

 

  • Create quality broadcasting graphics for a variety of sports, including lineup graphics, stat graphics, and advertising graphics

  • Operate cameras during RCU games, providing proper angles and utilizing different techniques

  • Run advertisements from sponsors during breaks in play

  • Gain commentating/play-by-play experience, including preparation with game notes and interviews

  • Work in a team environment to prepare broadcasting plans before each game

 

Content Creation Intern

 

Content creation interns are responsible for creating content from RCU Athletics team practices, events, and gamedays to provide to Warrior digital marketers, external media outlets, and Rochester Christian University. Content Creation interns can choose to specialize in a specific form of content creation, or work in all areas of content creation. 

 

  • Shoot photos and videos during RCU athletics events to create media content

  • Assist/run media days for RCU teams and create content packages from those media days

  • Create sports graphics for use on social media sites using sports graphic software

  • Create social media content for multiple social media platforms

  • Learn to identify new content creation trends in sports media

 

Gameday Operations Intern 

 

Gameday operations interns will be responsible for providing the best possible in-game experience for fans, coaches, and players during home RCU contests. Gameday operations interns can choose to work the fan experience side, running concessions, ticket sales, and helping run gameday promotions alongside marketing interns. They can also choose to focus on helping operate the score table, where interns can run scorebooks, shot clocks, and scoreboards. 

 

  • Set up athletics contests during pregame with equipment

  • Assist fans with ticket sales and work to increase ticket sales for future RCU contests

  • Manage concessions during home RCU contests and work to increase sales 

  • Work gameday promotions with marketing interns and run halftime entertainment/promotion
