WARRIORS TRAVEL TO FLORIDA FOR RUSS-MATT INVITATIONAL
It's that time of year for Warrior baseball (4-6), as the team takes the bus ride down to Auburndale, Fla., for a series of games during the week. Rochester will begin the trip by traveling down to UC Clermont for three games over Saturday and Sunday before continuing to Auburndale for the Russ-Matt Invitational.
THE MATCHUPS
CINCINNATI-CLERMONT (3-1) - SATURDAY, MARCH 2 - SUNDAY, MARCH 3
Before reaching the sunshine state, the Warriors will face off with Cincinnati Clermont for the annual series between the two teams. Last year, Clermont took both games against the Warriors. Both teams have faced off each year since the 2013-14 season.
Saturday will be a single nine-inning contest beginning at 2 p.m., while Sunday will be a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
INDIANA-SOUTH BEND (4-5) - TUESDAY, MARCH 5 - 4 P.M.
The Warriors' first game in Florida will be a rematch against Indiana-South Bend, a team Rochester faced in the 1st Annual Midwestern Clash on Feb. 17. The Titans defeated the Warriors 13-0 in that matchup.
NORTHWESTERN (IA) (5-6) - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6 - 4:15 P.M.
The next game will take place against the Northwestern Red Raiders of Iowa. The Warriors have faced the Red Raiders twice before, during a doubleheader last season where the Warriors conceded both games.
VALLEY CITY STATE (5-7) - FRIDAY, MARCH 8 - 9:15 A.M.
The penultimate game of the trip will take place against Valley City State for the first-ever matchup between the Vikings and the Warriors. Valley City has already played WHAC opponent Siena Heights (L, 11-12) and will play Cornerstone before playing Rochester.
TRINITY BAPTIST (7-10) - SATURDAY, MARCH 9 - 1:15 P.M.
The weekend's final game will feature the Warriors challenging Trinity Baptist of Florida. TBC will play a full slate of WHAC teams before taking on the Warriors, playing double-headers against Lawrence Tech, Cornerstone, and Aquinas.
