Baseball's Matthew Redmond earns WHAC Pitcher of the Week

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its weekly players of the week for April 6-12, and Rochester Christian's Matthew Redmond earned the team's first honor of the season following his efforts in two of the Warriors' wins on the week. 

Redmond, a sophomore from Attica, Michigan, allowed a pair of earned runs on the week, pitching his way to a 2.57 ERA and a 1.0 WHIP. Redmond collected 19 strikeouts over the two games, including tying his career high with 10 against Madonna. Against Siena Heights, Redmond pitched the first six innings of a 14-inning thriller. Redmond's sole two earned runs came against the very first two batters he faced on the week, throwing 13 innings without allowing an earned run. 

The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday, April 15, as they take a break from conference play with a doubleheader against the Grace Christian Tigers, beginning at 1 PM.
