WARRIORS FINISH THIRD AT WHAC CHAMPIONSHIPS, SET PROGRAM SCORING RECORDS; AWARDS RELEASED
ADRIAN, Mich. - It was another historic end to the season for the Warriors at the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday, March 10 at Siena Heights Fieldhouse. The Warriors placed third of eight competing teams, breaking program scoring records in the preliminary (81.23) and final rounds (84.4) at a conference championship event. The third-place finish ties the Warriors' program best, achieved in 2022.
Overall, the Warriors scored 83.6075 points, trailing second-place Lourdes (85.305) by just under two points while pacing ahead of hosts Siena Heights by over two points (80.7825).
The WHAC also released their end-of-season awards, with RCU freshman Rebecca Bryce taking home the Warriors' Champions of Character Team selection. Four Warriors - Autumn Gesink, Emmaleah Read, Sera Weaver, and Brooke Wells - were named to the WHAC's All-Academic Team.
SENIOR NOTE
Sunday's event was the final for senior Sera Weaver, who was also a part of the Warriors' 2022 and 2023 record-setting teams. In all years she was eligible, Weaver was named to the WHAC All-Academic Team while serving a vital role in the program's success at the championship events.
