WARRIORS SECURE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS CONFERENCE TITLE IN UPSET VICTORY; WHAC AWARDS RELEASED
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Warriors earned a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title in a third consecutive year on April 5, winning the WHAC League of Legends Championship on the campus of Siena Heights University. RCU was the first two-seed ever to win a WHAC championship in League of Legends, defeating top-seeded and undefeated Indiana Tech 3-2.
Following a tournament bye, the Warriors defeated #3 Lawrence Tech in a 2-0 sweep. During the Indiana Tech matchup, the two teams traded maps to begin the final round, before RCU secured two consecutive maps after an improbable comeback effort during one of the middle maps.
The Warriors' championship marks the third straight year that RCU has won a WHAC title in an eSport competition, with the Warriors maintaining their hold on WHAC Rocket League play.
