MEN'S BASKETBALL ADDS CALEB BYRD FOR 2023 SEASON

Men's Basketball is happy to announce the signing of Caleb Byrd, a 6'1 guard from Glen Oaks Community College.

Byrd comes to RU after playing two seasons for NJCAA Division II Glen Oaks Community College. While at Glen Oaks, Caleb was named All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2023 and was a team captain. During his time at Glen Oaks, he averaged 9.1 points per game and shot nearly 50% from the field.

Byrd had a good prep career out of Brandywine High School in Niles, MI. He was a three-time All-Conference selection and was All-State Honorable Mention. He also helped lead Brandywine to a District title in the 2018-2019 season.

Caleb is the son of Pete and Lakeisha Byrd and plans to study psychology at Rochester.

Head Coach Klint Pleasant had this to say about Caleb's signing:

"We are excited for Caleb to be joining us. We feel he embodies our culture, has a team-first attitude, and will be a positive influence on our team. We always value guys that play hard and Caleb is no exception. We look forward to getting him on campus this fall."
