WARRIORS TO CELEBRATE SENIOR DAY AGAINST UNOH
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Warriors (16-9, 11-8) will look for a win on an important day against the Northwestern Ohio Racers (7-18, 6-13) on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. The program will be celebrating the careers of five seniors - Anthony Cukaj, Bralin Toney, Brandon Michrina, Cam Sutton, and Zane Draper - prior to the contest.
THREE KEY THINGS
WARRIORS CELEBRATE SENIOR DAY
Rochester will begin by celebrating five special seniors' careers before the matchup, with four of the players being guards for the Warriors who have served important roles on the roster over the last few seasons. Rochester will honor the seniors five minutes prior to the opening tip in front of the home crowd.
ROCHESTER SEEKS IMPORTANT WHAC WIN
With just three games remaining on the conference slate, the Warriors will need a big win to stay in the WHAC Tournament race and gain momentum before the opening rounds. Following the UNOH matchup, the Warriors will take on #13 Lourdes on the road and Cornerstone at home - the two teams are second and third in the conference, respectively.
RACERS COMING IN HOT
The Racers enter this contest fresh off a close win against the Aquinas Saints on Wednesday, 80-78 in The Garage. For the Racers, every win counts with the final spot of the WHAC Tournament on the line.
COACH'S CORNER
Head Coach Klint Pleasant had this to say on the impact of this senior class:
"One of the special things about our program is the tradition we have. It's so much more than basketball. We prop up our players as leaders and to carry on that tradition. This is why I coach. It's why my dad coached. It's not about wins or champions but rather watching these young men grow. I'm incredibly proud of our seniors. I have maximum respect for them. We'll stand on their shoulders as they leave. And I hope we can make them proud as they transition to the alumni side of the warrior basketball family."
SPORTS INFORMATION SPOTLIGHT
This class features several players who will make their way into the record books - Brandon Michrina currently sits among the Warrior leaders in career free throw percentage (min. 40 attempts), Bralin Toney becomes the sixth all-time Warrior in career steals, and Anthony Cukaj is tied for 10th in all-time scoring at 813 career points.
