WASHINGTON, MI - Men's soccer (1-0) will play in its home opener on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Spring Arbor (3-0-1) at 2 p.m. at Michigan Stars Sports Center. The program will finally return to action after defeating Shawnee State in its first game of the season 1-0.
Last year, the Warriors and Cougars faced off at Cougar Soccer Complex, where the Warriors triumphed with a 2-1 victory. This time out, both teams look to remain undefeated in non-conference play, with Spring Arbor coming off a 2-1 victory over Governors State.
Earlier in the season, Spring Arbor faced off against WHAC opponent Cornerstone, which resulted in a draw. The Cougars are led by sophomore Abdulrahman Al-Rashed, who recorded an assist in the Governors State matchup. Al-Rashed also earned Crossroads Offensive Player of the Week Honors in week one of the season.
