Men's Track see's Josef and Holt atop High Jump leaderboard to highlight WHAC Championships

(Fort Wayne, IN) - The Rochester Christian women's track and field team closed out its season at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships this past weekend. 

 

FIELD RESULTS

Hayden Josef and Julian Holt earned 19 points for the team as they placed first and second, respectively, in the high jump event. Both jumpers would eclipse the 1.98-meter standard, but Josef would complete the jump on his first attempt, while Holt would hit the mark on his second. 

 

Michael Reed competed in the Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer. Reed placed 18th in the shot put with a 10.28-meter toss, 17th in the discus with a 33.16-meter throw, and closed out the championships with a 37.08-meter throw in the hammer. 

 

Nathan Brewer threw in the Discus and the Hammer with tosses of 33.16 meters and 37.29 meters, respectively, placing 18th in the discus and 13th in the hammer. 

 

Jaylon Moore threw the Discus, Hammer, and Javelin at the Championships. Moore tossed the discus 27.28 meters and finished in 26th place, while throwing the javelin 34.50 meters and winding up in 17th place. 

 

TRACK RESULTS

Cameron Stermer was the top runner for the Warriors as he placed 6th in the 10,000-meter race with a personal best time of 32:24.30. Stermer would also complete the 5,000-meter race in a time of 16:00.66 and in 18th place. 

 

Chad Kocsis would also take part in the 10km race alongside Stermer and finished the race with a personal best time of 39:16.12 and in 20th place. 

 

Eli Hullinger ran both the 800-meter race and the 1,500-meter race at the championships. Hullinger finished with times of 2:05.72 and 4:12.90, respectively, finishing in 29th place in the 800 and 11th in the 1,500. 

 

Ethan Dinanath ran a trio of races, including the 100, 200, and 400-meter dashes. Dinanath had times of 11.30, 23.50, and 51.09, respectively, with 19th-place finishes in the 100 and 200-meter races while earning a personal best time in the 400-meter race. 

 

Ethan Eisenhauer took on the 100 and 200-meter races at the championships with times of 12.20 and 24.45, respectively.

CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER

Hayden Josef was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The sophomore was honored for his commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 

ALL-ACADEMIC

The WHAC announced its All-Academic teams, which include sophomores and above in Academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The six Warriors honored were Nathan Brewer, Ethan Dinanath, Ethan Eisenhauer, Eli Hullinger, Chad Kocsis, and Michael Reed
