Bio

Entering his fourth year at Rochester Christian, James Rogers has had a successful tenure as an assistant for RCU Women's Basketball. Rogers was an important part of Rochester Christian's 2022-23 WHAC Tournament Title Team, and has helped coach several All-Conference players while traveling with the team for two NAIA National Tournament appearances. 

Prior to his time at Rochester Christian, Rogers was an assistant women's basketball coach at Macomb Community College for three years. Rogers was also a ten-year head coach at Cousino High School, where he also served as a history teacher, retiring in 2017. Rogers also served as the head coach at South Lake High School from 1997-1999. 

Rogers also has ties to the Detroit Pistons, working as a production assistant and editing game film for the coaching staff of the Bad Boy Pistons from 1987-1991. Rogers graduated from Central Michigan University in 1997, before earning a Master's in Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. 

Rogers was born in Louisiana but moved to Sterling Heights at a young age. Currently, he resides in Fraser. Rogers enjoys traveling, seeing his granddaughter, and playing golf.
