Bio

Jared Ocampo has lasting ties with Rochester Christian University, dating back to when he became an assistant on RCU's women's basketball staff in 2021. Ocampo played an important role in helping the team secure the 2023 WHAC Tournament Championship and was also a part of two NAIA National Tournament appearances for the Warriors. During Ocampo's time as an assistant, he focused primarily on player development and oversaw a 44-22 record for RCU. In 2023, Ocampo was selected to become the program's new head. 

Prior to his assistant role at RCU, Ocampo was an assistant varsity women's basketball coach at Madison Heights Bishop Foley High School. During his three-year tenure as an assistant, Bishop Foley earned a pair of division championships, one district championship, and the first-ever regional championship in the school's history. Ocampo also coached six years of travel basketball for the Tri-County Hoopers and the Michigan Mystics. 

In his own playing career, Ocampo played at Clawson High School before playing two seasons of college basketball at San Sebastian College in Manila, Philippines. The Ocampo family and their association with RCU go back to when the school was Michigan Christian College, where Ocampo's father played on the men's basketball program under revered coach Garth Pleasant. 

Ocampo has a Bachelor's of Science in Sports Management from Wayne State University.
