Women's Golf concludes season at WHAC Championships
(Yorktown, IN) - The Rochester Christian women's golf team concluded its season last week at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship, competing at the Players Club at Woodland Trails. The WHAC also released its yearly postseason honors, following the conclusion of the Championship.
The event featured all 12 WHAC teams, golfing three rounds over the two days.
RCU SCORES
The Warriors finished with a team score of 1,340, with round scores of 443-440-457.
Attika Parris was the top finisher for RCU in the tournament, as she posted scores of 107-106-118 for a total score of 331. Brooke Cicero was next up, scoring 113-111-113 for a total score of 337.
Kayce Maitland and Anna Ferguson would both shoot scores of 338, scoring 115-109-114 and 108-114-116, respectively. Mackenzie Murdock rounded out the team with a total score of 344 with round scores of 115-115-114.
REST OF THE FIELD PERFORMANCES
Northwestern Ohio took home the top spot for the tournament, claiming the conference title, after posting a total score of 964, narrowly beating out Lawrence Tech by two strokes.
Molly Douglas from Northwestern Ohio was the top individual for the tournament with a total score of 228.
WHAC CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER TEAM
Brooke Cicero was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The junior was honored for her commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
WHAC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
The WHAC announced its All-Academic teams, which include sophomores and above in Academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The three Warriors honored were Jessica Cadman, Brooke Cicero, and Kayce Maitland.
