PORTSMOUTH, OH - The Warriors (0-0) open their 2023-24 campaign tonight in Ohio, where the team travels to face the Shawnee State Bears (0-0) in its first non-conference game. The Warriors enter this season with new head coach Dan Seargeant at the helm.
This will be a rematch of last year's contest hosted by Rochester, where the Bears emerged victorious with a 5-1 win. Shawnee State finished the year with an 11-8 record (5-6), with their season coming to a close in the second round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
The Bears will be looking for new players to take lead this year, losing All-Conference players Kevin de Lange and Thomas de Graauw. For the Warriors, several key players from last year's team return, including WHAC First Team All-Conference member Dmitar Stankovic.
Rochester will look for a big win to start the new year on the right foot.
