MEN'S SOCCER PICKS UP FIRST WIN OF WHAC SEASON AGAINST SIENA HEIGHTS
Men’s soccer (3-6-2, 1-4-1) secured its first win of conference play on Wednesday night, defeating the Siena Heights Saints (6-5-2, 2-2-2) 2-0. Rochester used staunch defense to keep the game even, before opening the game up late in the second half.

ADRIAN, MI - Men's soccer (3-6-2, 1-4-1) secured its first win of conference play on Wednesday night, defeating the Siena Heights Saints (6-5-2, 2-2-2) 2-0. Rochester used staunch defense to keep the game even, before opening the game up late in the second half.
Offensively, the Warriors out-shot the Saints 13-7, with a much larger advantage in the first half. However, Rochester wasn't as accurate in the first half, with four of six shots not being on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Kris Tauzik continued his strong overall play on the season with five saves during the game.
In the 67th minute, Tauzik would make a crucial save that led to an offensive opportunity for the Warriors when senior Dmitar Stankovic recorded a shot on goal. Six minutes later, the Warriors would get a breakthrough when senior Viktor Juncaj found senior Adrian Lopez for the first goal of the game.
Three minutes after that, Rochester again made a big play, with sophomore Gadiel Herrera being able to find the back of the net after a great ball-movement sequence for the Warriors. Rochester's defense stood strong in the final ten minutes, with the team being able to shave off time thanks to a consecutive corner sequence.

Rochester will look to continue its newfound momentum on Saturday when the team faces the Madonna Crusaders (8-3-2, 4-1-1).
