WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CONFERENCE AWARDS RELEASED; HUDGINS EARNS SECOND TEAM NOMINATION

In a release by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference league office on Thursday morning, the 2024 Women's Volleyball WHAC awards have been released. RCu is headlined by middle blocker Chante Hudgins, who earned a Second Team All-Conference nomination following a stellar debut season for the Warriors. Fellow middle blocker Alivia Everitt was recognized on the WHAC All-Freshman team, also showcasing impressive numbers in her inaugural collegiate season.

The Warriors (2-5) produced two stout wins during the St. Francis Big Dogs Classic over the Aug. 23 weekend, defeating hosts St. Francis (IL) and Saint Xavier in thrilling 3-2 victories. During the weekend, the Warriors saw several strong performances from players in every position, forcing comebacks in both wins.

A 14-kill third game from the Warriors helped keep the Warriors in swinging distance of stealing a game from the #20 Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars on Friday afternoon, but the hosting Cougars put things away on the final few points to wrap up the Warriors' first match of the season 0-3.
